Chapter 1

"Have any of you ever gotten a lap dance from
Catherine?" Greg asked the men assembled in the room.

Nick and Warrick looked at each other with a
puzzled>look and their puzzlement grew as they saw
that Brass was almost smiling at the question.

'What's so funny?' Nick asked and studied the older
man.

'Oh, nothing,' Brass said and the semi smile was
almost erupting to a real smile.

'Come on tell us,' Warrick said.

Both his and Nick's patience were growing thin. They
were getting really curious and Greg wasn't any better
at being patient.

'Patience is a virtue,' Brass said and enjoyed the
tortured faces of the other men.

'Come on, you have to tell us,' Greg said.

'Okay, but it's not what you think. I haven't gotten a
lap dance from Catherine but I know someone who has,'
Brass said sounding mysterious he then paused for a
dramatic effect.

'Grissom,' he then stated a matter of factly.

The men in the room looked at Brass with a mix of
surprise and amusement. The more they all thought
about it the less impossible it seemed.

'Grissom!? You mean that Grissom has gotten a lapdance
from Catherine?' Nick said.

'Yes,' Brass answered.

'When and why?' Nick asked.

'A few years ago on his birthday but I don't really
know why,' he answered.

'Don't know why what?' Sara asked as she joined the
men in the room.

'Nothing special,' Nick said hoping she believed him
even though he knew that she wouldn't.

'Why Catherine gave Grissom a lap dance,' Warrick
said.

Nick looked like he wanted to be swallowed by the
earth.

'When did Catherine give Grissom a lapdance?' Sara
asked intrigued.

'A few years back on his birthday,' Greg answered.

'How do you know that?' Sara asked.

'Brass told us,' Warrick informed. Sara turned her
next question to Brass.

'How do you know that?' she asked.

'I accidentally saw them,' Brass said.

A light turned on in Sara's head as he supplied that
important part of information.

'Well in that case, unless you for some reason came to
Grissom or Catherine's home without announcing
yourself, they must have done it.' she started.

'Here,' Nick finished for her.

'Yes,' Brass answered them.

'But isn't that against the rules?' Sara asked.

'Yes, it is,' Brass answered.

'So what did you do when you found them?' Nick asked.

'Well I didn't exactly get the chance to do anything.
As soon as Catherine saw me she got up from Grissom's
lap, threw me out of the room and closed the door in
front of my face,' Brass said.

'Wow,' Greg breathed.

He couldn't really understand how anyone would dare to
defy Brass, especially when doing something they
clearly shouldn't.

At this time however the two culprits arrived.

Grissom looked at the men and the woman assembled in
the room. He was well aware that when you were no
longer one of the guys, so to speak, people generally
stopped talking as you entered a room.

He also knew that they all had a kind of fatherly
respect for him, especially Greg who sometimes seemed
really afraid of him. However Brass, who had known him
longer than the rest of the group and thus knew him
better didn't show the same fright. This partly had to
do with the fact that he wasn't under Grissom's
command. Therefore Grissom couldn't punish him in the
same way as he could with the others.

But this time it seemed that not only had they stopped
talking it almost seemed as if though they had stopped
breathing. All they did was look at him and at his
companion.

He gazed at the woman beside him and knew instantly
that whatever they had been talking about, the reason
they had stopped was not because he was their boss but
for some other reason, something that seemed to have
to do with both him and Catherine.

They proceeded into the room and sat down at the
table. As they walked to the table Nick, Sara, Warrick
and Greg's gaze never left them.

Grissom was seriously wondering what was going on. He
caught Catherine looking at him and understood from
the look in her eyes that she knew as little as he did
and that she was just as curious as he was as to find
out what was going on.

'So what were you talking about?' he asked trying to
sound indifferent.

Although in truth the answer was gnawing at his
insides.

'Nothing special,' Nick once again tried.

He knew that if it didn't fool Sara it would hardly
fool Grissom or Catherine.

'Just an incident that took place a few years back,'
Brass said with a taunting air to his words.

Grissom looked perplexed at his old friend. But before
he could ask him one of the men and woman no longer
could hold his or her tongue.

'Did Catherine really give you a lap dance!?' Greg
suddenly blurted out shocking everyone in the room.
Grissom just looked at Catherine then at Brass.

'Since you see, that's what we've been told and I for
one really want to find out if there's any truth in
that statement,' Greg continued.

Grissom looked at him then at Catherine and as she
gave him her consent with a small gesture,
unnoticeable to everyone in the room but him, he
cleared his throat as if to answer.

'Yes,' he said.

'She gave you a lap dance!?' Greg once again asked.

'Yes, she did,' Grissom once again answered.

He really couldn't see what all the excitement was
about. Sure it was a kind of strange gift, as he
himself had thought at the time, but it wasn't weird
enough to deserve this kind of attention.

He turned around as he felt a hand on his shoulder and
looked into Catherine's blue eyes. She gave him a sign
to come with her and without turning his gaze from her
he followed her out of the room.

Nick and Sara just looked at each other they, still
couldn't believe the scene that had been played out
before them.

Warrick looked angrily at Greg who looked perfectly
happy. Brass watched the scene with ill-concealed
amusement.

'Don't you see? Now we know that it's true. Now we
know that Catherine has given Grissom a lap dance,'
Greg suddenly exclaimed with a big grin on his lips.

'And what good does that do?' Warrick asked.

'Well, now we have some gossip on Grissom and
Catherine,' Greg answered.

'I repeat the question what good does that do?'

'Alright, I don't know, fine? Happy?' Greg admitted.

Brass, Warrick, Nick, Sara and Greg sat in silence
waiting for the return of Grissom and Catherine.

Catherine held Grissom by the arm as she practically
dragged him to his office.

Once there she shut the door and told him to sit down.
She then placed herself on his side of the desk so
that she sat over him like a vulture on its pray.

'Grissom, didn't you hear them in there,' she asked.

'They think that I have given you a lap dance,' she
continued.

'And what's worse you let them,' she concluded.

'I only told the truth. You did give me a lap dance
for my birthday a few years back remember?' he asked
her.

'I remember,' she said.

'But that is not what they think. They think I gave
you the lap dance, that I performed it. Grissom, they
don't realize that I hired a stripper to perform the
lap dance for you.'

She suddenly realized that what she had feared had
been true. By the look on his face he had had no idea
of what he had confirmed in there.

Sure it was true that she had given him a lap dance in
the way that Nick, Sara, Warrick and Greg thought but
it had only been to instruct the stripper she had
hired.

She had hoped that one of her experienced ex-coworkers
could help her but since none had been available she
had been forced to take one of the not so experienced
girls.

It turned out to be that the girl had never performed
a lap dance and knew scarcely what it was. Thus she
had been forced to show the girl how to perform a lap
dance, on Grissom, to show the girl how to do it.

It was at this time that Brass had opened the door.
And so she understood why the others in had been so
confused.

She was awoken from her reverie by Grissom's next
words.

'I'm so sorry, Catherine. I didn't realize that they
didn't know that you had hired a stripper instead of
performing it yourself,' he said and he looked truly
sorry.

She was almost surprised at him not mentioning that
she had in fact performed a lap dance on him. But then
remembered that he was a gentleman and as such he
didn't see any reason to bring up the fact that what
Greg and the others had thought in there was partly
true.

'It's okay. But next time think before you speak,' she
said with a half-smile.

He tried to get out of the chair but couldn't since
she was blocking his only escape path.

However she was completely unaware of this. So Grissom
made an attempt at getting up which resulted in him
colliding with Catherine.

Not ready for the impact they both landed on the
floor. Grissom on top of Catherine.

Meanwhile the group had grown tired of waiting and had
started to search for Grissom and Catherine when they
had heard a loud noise from Grissom's office. They
hurried there and flung open the door just in time to
see Grissom on top of Catherine.

To any spectator the scene would look quite
compromising, thus it looked exactly that to the group
who stared at them from the other side of the room.

'Can't wait to get it on, huh?' escaped from the lips
of Greg.

The others looked at him with a look of perfect
horror. Greg suddenly seemed to become aware of his
mistake and stood quietly suddenly very interested of
the floor.

Grissom tried to get up but it wasn't too easy since
Catherine had when they'd fallen wrapped her legs and
arms around him thus adding to the compromising look
of the situation they were now in.

She however seemed completely oblivious of this thus
she kept her arms and legs around Grissom, and as he
tried to get up the compromising look of the situation
grew.

At this Greg who seemed to have recaptured his ability
to speak said

'Okay guys, do you think you can wait with getting it
on until we're out of the room,' he encompassed his
words by pointing his hand towards Nick, Sara, Warrick
and Brass who stood somewhat behind him.

However they backed away, as if not wanting to be
connected to anything that Greg said.

He looked at them questioningly and then realized his
new slip-up.

Grissom, who had previously looked at Nick, Sara,
Warrick, Greg and Brass as they stormed in, turned his
gaze on Catherine who lay underneath him.

She looked up at him with a somewhat confused
expression. From her position under Grissom she
couldn't see the others.

She had barely heard the door open and her curiosity
had grown when she had heard Greg's voice.

'We have company,' Grissom said to her.

'Oh,' she answered.

She suddenly seemed to realize her hold of Grissom,
because she started to disentangle herself from his
body, thus allowing him to get up. Once he was on his
feet, he extended a hand to her and helped her to get
onto hers as well.

If the scene had looked curious on the floor
the>curiosity grew as the two had risen.

Catherine's hair was tousled and her clothes were
disarranged. Grissom's clothes were also slightly
disarranged, only adding to the air of truth of the
compromising situation they had been found in.

Brass looked at them an amused look in his eyes. He
was the only one of the intruders who dared to look
amused at the situation.

A complete silence laid itself over the people in the
room. Grissom and Catherine stood beside each other at
one end of his desk while Nick, Sara, Warrick, Greg
and Brass stood at the other close to the door.

Catherine who was still a little disoriented by the
current events was steadied by Grissom so that she
wouldn't fall over but since their lower bodies were
concealed behind the desk the situation looked
different from what it was. And the group gathered in
the room took it as another sign of proof that they
were right, something was definitely going on between
Grissom and Catherine.
