"Carter?"

Sam turned her head and smiled at the figure standing in the doorway.

"Sir..."

He ambled in and sat on the edge of the bed next to hers. �How you doin'?�

"I'm ok..." she glanced down at herself and smiled slightly. �No big deal.�

Jack nodded and coughed lightly. �The Jaffa and Tok'ra are leaving the Beta site.�

�Dad mentioned something along those lines.� She shifted and winced.

�You want me to get the Doc?�

Sam shook her head and closed her eyes briefly before looking back at him. �So what now?�

�We move forward�just like always.�

�Just like always.� She mimicked him.

He stood slowly and slipped his hands in his pockets. �Need anything?�

She shook her head again and Jack nodded before turning to walk away.

�Sir? Thank you.�

He turned back and offered a small smile. �Anytime Carter.�
